Airbrush Cleaner
All airbrush tanning solutions, even those that are aloe vera based or alcohol based are predominantly water.
So, a heavy cleaner is not necessary to keep your airbrush in a clean, operable state. You should keep an extra solution bottle containing cleaner to flush and clean your airbrush after prolonged periods of disuse during the day
and at the end of the day.
The Tanning Store offers a professional airbrush cleaner from Iwata which may be found by clicking here:Iwata Airbrush Cleaner.
We also offer a cleaning kit, which is particulary useful for cleaning makeup or tattoo inks from top feed airbrushes: Airbrush Cleaning Kit.
Finally, an airbrush cleaning pot serves as a useful reservoir to flush your airbrush with cleaning solution. It can also serve as an airbrush holder. However, it is not a good holder
for the turboair turbospeed airbrush due to the pistol trigger. You can still use it as a cleaning station for this airbrush. This cleaning pot is described here: Airbrush Cleaning Station & Holder.
If you prefer to devise your own cleaner, an acceptable cleaner may be devised from cheap,
commonly available ingredients such as windex and water. Several formulas are given below. The first two have been presented
on airbrush sites on the web. Just mix it up and store in a commonly available container such as a large empty soda bottle.
Formula One
1 Part Windex
9 Parts Water
1 Tablespoon Ammonia
Note that ammonia can tarnish chrome. So you may consider dropping this last ingredient for a cleaner for airbrush tanning solution.
Formula Two
2 Parts distilled water
1 part windex
1 part Simple Green
Formula 3
2 parts distilled water
1 part isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol
a few drops of dawn detergent.
