Ultra Myst HVLP Tanning

TurboAir UltraMyst HVLP Tanning

The TurboAir UltraMyst is a next generation spray tanning system using HVLP conversion technology. HVLP conversion technology is superior to turbine based systems as the Table at this link illustrates: UltraMyst vs. Turbine HVLP Tanning. We believe the TurboAir UltraMyst is the best and most affordable HVLP spray tanning system on the market.

What is HVLP?

HVLP spray technology uses a high volume of air, offsetting the use of lower pressure, to achieve fine atomization with low overspray. Low overspray is highly valued in applications such as auto painting, since the solvent based paints may be quite toxic and pose environmental and workplace safety hazards. This is not so great an issue in spray tanning since a relatively safe, water based carbohydrate-type substance is being sprayed –-- DHA. Further, the alternative technology in tanning, airbrushes, also spray at relatively low pressures –-- about 15 psi. So, for properly adjusted spray tanning equipment with adequate ventilation, overspray considerations are not all that great.

Rather, the primary driving force behind the use of HVLP in spray tanning is speed. Speed is primarily determined by spray pattern width and the size of the needle opening (throughput). Since spray guns spray up to a 4-8 inch pattern they will tend to finish an application faster than airbrushes which typically spray less than a 2 inch pattern. Airbrush spray guns do exist but only select models, such as the TurboAir Mach 7 or the Iwata G6, work well on the lower air flows from airbrush compressors. But, there is a downside to large spray pattern width. Someone spraying an 8 inch pattern may finish in record time but do a really bad job in small or hard to reach areas.

What Took You So Long?

HVLP Conversion technology in auto shops is typically supported by large bulky compressors. These compressors have very high air flow rates and pressures, since they are also used to operate air tools. Even efficiently designed HVLP Conversion touch-up guns may need an air flow rate requiring at least a 2 horsepower compressor -- much bigger and heavier than a typical airbrush compressor.

The TurboAir UltraMyst system uniquely solves this problem. By employing two smaller compressors working in tandem, a high volume air flow is produced that matches that of a much bigger and heavier single compressor. The UltraMyst design yields a powerful, extremely compact, and mobile system.

The ideal HVLP spray gun for tanning is a HVLP conversion touch-up gun. The UltraMyst system is matched with such a gun, providing just the right combination of speed and detail capability. The UltraMyst spray gun is unmatched for fine atomization and a soft spray.

Spanning The Spectrum

Uniquely solving the problems that allowed HVLP Conversion technology to be practically applied to spray tanning has produced an unusually flexible system -- one that spans the spectrum of spray tanning application. The TurboAir UltraMyst can go head-to-head with systems costing well over $1,000. But, the design solution produced a small but powerful system suitable for mobile applications as well. It truly is a one size fits all system. The TurboAir UltraMyst is a revolutionary advance in spray tanning. Order yours today!
